Was It a Secret Message to Channel 9?! The Bizarre Jewellery Detail in Karl Stefanovic’s Piers Morgan Interview That Has Everyone Obsessed!

The Aussie media personality – who helmed Nine’s flagship breakfast program for over 20 years before getting the axe last week – sat down with UK journalist Piers Morgan on his eponymous podcast, The Karl Stefanovic Show, to discuss his decision to interview far-right activist Tommy Robinson and the fallout that followed.

However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out the 51-year-old’s choice of jewellery for the talk, with the media star wearing a gold cross around his neck, which could be seen peeking out of his unbuttoned shirt.

It was layered over what appeared to be another pendant.

“Is that a cross I see brother!” one person commented below an Instagram clip of the interview, which the podcast page liked.

Wearing a cross can often signal one’s Christian faith, however it can also be worn as a fashionable accessory.

Stefanovic has made no public statements regarding his religion.

In the interview, the Aussie media personality was overcome with emotion as he reflected on his exit from the Today show with Morgan, 61.

“I thought Tommy Robinson was a legitimate interview for us to pick up,” he told the British journalist while aboard his luxury yacht in France.

“What’s happening on the right, what’s happening on the streets, and you know, (Robinson) came in, and we did it. I put it up on air, and then a couple of days later – boom.”

Morgan, who was axed from UK breakfast show Good Morning Britain in 2021 over comments made about Meghan Markle, levelled with Stefanovic and revealed he, too, had tried to sit down with Robinson a number of times on his Uncensored show.

When he asked Stefanovic how he was coping in the wake of the upheaval, the former Today host struggled to hold back tears as he detailed how his wife Jasmine had been impacted.

“Just my wife, because she puts up with a lot,” he choked, adding: “Her finding out this stuff and having to deal with me, because I’m a lot, and I’m in the public a lot.

“I really do work hard, and I’m away a bit, and she knows what I’m trying to do with this podcast. So I’m doing this, and some radio, and I’m doing it for the family, but she’s on her own a lot.

“And for me to hear her upset, it was the hardest thing.”
