“It’s All a Lie!” Sunny and Bear EXPLODE Over Golden Bachelor Split Rumours and Reveal the Jaw-Dropping Secret That Saved Them!

Exclusive: Sunny Long and Bear Myrden had an unconventional start to their relationship, first meeting on The Golden Bachelor and then having to keep their romance secret for seven months.

But another eight months on, after announcing their love story to the nation, Sunny, 58, and Bear, 61, are still going strong, and they have a message for anyone who doubts them.

In recent months, split rumours swirled around the couple, but Bear was quick to dispel them.

“People are going to have their opinions regardless of what happens. When we’re not being seen together out in public or with each other, then people jump to conclusions. We’re not together 24/7 but we are very much still in a fabulous, loving relationship,” he told nine.com.au

“I don’t want to give oxygen to the rumour. We’re just trying to focus on our real life together,” Sunny added.

While Bear didn’t pay any attention to comments online about their relationship, he admitted that it did affect Sunny at times.

“I just calm her down and say other people will have their opinions no matter what you do.

“I often joke that you could cure cancer and somebody would still have something to say about it. You just can’t win.”

After filming and falling in love on The Golden Bachelor in April 2025, Sunny and Bear kept their romance private until the series aired in November 2025.

During that time they couldn’t freely be in public so as not to spoil the series for the public. It meant they could only see each other a handful of times and call everyday.

In the eight months since going public, Sunny and Bear have settled back into everyday life, life with their adult kids and going back to work.

“We’re like any normal couple, we have a few ups and downs but we’re very much in love. Just taking it slow and incorporating our families together,” Bear said.

The pair still live in their separate family homes in Sydney with their adult kids. Sunny with her daughters, Chloe and Penelope, and Bear with his sons Charlie, Jack and Declan.

But living just a 15-minute drive away from one another means there’s plenty of weekends away and after-work dinner dates, with Bear a huge fan of Sunny’s cooking.

Bear is hoping to go on a holiday to Korea with Sunny, though the pair have already had an unplanned international visit together.

In March, Bear’s 92-year-old father fell ill, so he rushed to Canada to see him.

“God love Sunny, she dropped everything and came to Canada and met my extended family, my brothers, my dad, and my aunts and uncles and cousins, and they absolutely fell in love with her,” Bear said.

“I think they like her better than they like me.”

Thankfully, Bear’s father is doing well and while it wasn’t the carefree Canadian holiday they wanted it was a deeply important step in their relationship.

“I just wanted to support him with his father not well and in hospital,” Sunny said.

She was on a business trip at the time but changed plans and continents to be with Bear and his family for 10 days.

“It was amazing, I love all of them [Bear’s family].”
