Romance rumours are swirling around Keith Urban and his former American Idol co-judge, but sources say “he doesn’t seem to have the guts” to take things to the next level.
Fans and friends of Keith Urban are urging him to make a move on his former American Idol co-judge Jennifer Lopez, but the country rocker may need “a little push”.
According to Heatworld, the pair developed a sweet friendship while working on the hit singing competition series between 2014 and 2016 and, even then, were speculated to be a good love match thanks to their easygoing chemistry.
Furthermore, the potential couple have endured similar journeys, both weathering high-profile splits in the public eye and finalising their respective divorces over the past couple of years.

Now, insiders say Urban’s friends have been putting pressure on the 58-year-old to throw his hat in the ring with the On The Floor Singer, 57.
“Keith and Jennifer actually have a huge amount in common,” a mutual friend told the publication, adding: “They got along so well when they worked together and really developed a great friendship, so – of course – when the news broke out about Keith’s divorce, Jen reached out to offer her support.”
According to the source, the pair have “been in touch ever since.”
They added that while their relationship is still very much in the “friend zone”, it’s no secret that the Blue Ain’t Your Colour crooner thinks Lopez is “drop-dead gorgeous”.

“The problem is he doesn’t seem to have the guts to make the first move. Whenever his friends tell him he should ask her out, he comes up with excuses.”
The insider claims that Urban’s headline-churning divorce has left him lacking the self-assurance needed to make a move on his former colleague.
“He’s still rebuilding his confidence after everything that’s happened with Nicole, and he needs a little push,” they add.
Urban and Kidman announced their shock separation in September 2025 and finalised their divorce just four months later.

The couple were married for 19 years and share two children together, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.
Meanwhile, Lopez filed for divorce from actor Ben Affleck in August 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” after two years of marriage. They finalised it in January last year.
Both Lopez and Urban have been at the centre of romance rumours following their respective splits, however neither has confirmed any relationships since parting ways with their former partners.
