An industry insider has lifted the lid on Kyle Sandilands’ exciting new project, as well as a slate of offerings that will “set the blueprint for Australian media”.
An industry insider has detailed Kyle Sandilands’ upcoming reality show project – and why the radio shock jock’s fresh slate of media offerings marks a “new era of content”.
It’s no secret that Sandilands has been throwing himself into a slew of media projects since getting axed from The Kyle and Jackie O Show by Australian Radio Network (ARN) in March.
Kyle Sandilands Live, a daily, subscription-based breakfast show, is set to debut on August 10 and will be broadcasted live and unfiltered every day from 6am-10am via Sandilands’ website and app.

Meanwhile, the 55-year-old’s four-part docuseries, At Home With Kyle Sandilands, was released last month and saw the radio star unpack life during and after getting sacked by ARN.
Now, a well-placed source has lifted the lid on another project that Sandilands has been working on over the past few months, and it will give fans an even closer, more intimate glimpse into the shock jock’s life.
Josh Fox, a digital content creator who has been working alongside Sandilands on his new media offerings, sat down with News24.com.au to detail a “fast-paced” reality show that reveals “all the chaos” that comes with bringing a live show to life.
“We’re now doing a reality show called The Show, which is kind of like a ‘fly on the wall’ reality project which documents behind the scenes,” he shared.

According to Fox, The Show began as a way to capture the ‘crazy’, background processes needed to put a program together.
“We started filming that a few weeks ago when it was [about] building the show,” he revealed.
“However, it’s been so much fun. We’re like, ‘We should just keep this going’.”
Comparing the project to hit TV series The Office, Fox described the show as dry “in the best way” while emphasising the “unique” personalities within Sandilands’ team that have become the colourful characters of the show.

“Kyle has always been very excited about that,” he said of the documentary-style project, adding that Sandilands had “always wanted to do a reality show behind the scenes at KIIS [FM]”, the radio platform that once hosted The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
“But now feels like the time. The audience [is] there, there’s this new app that they can easily watch long-form content [on]”, he shared.
Fox gushed about working alongside Sandilands, adding: “He’s so energised now. He’s so excited about the possibilities of this app and what he can do.
“It does feel like, not just a new era in his career, but like, what we’re doing feels like it’s setting the blueprint for Australian media.
“When we look at traditional media versus new media… People like Kyle and (Karl) Stefanovic, they’re leaving that now and this is the world they’re now in.”
The first episodes of the reality series, titled Building The Show, are set to air on Sandilands’ app this week.
