Scott Cam was unusually quiet on social media before the show’s premiere last night and shared photos in hospital.
The Block host Scott Cam has shared images of himself recovering in hospital after having major surgery ahead of the show’s premiere last night.
The Channel 9 star had been “missing in action” for the last fortnight, only getting out of the hospital the day of.
“I’ve been getting a new knee for the last two weeks to keep up with the grandkids. Keen for you all to watch The Block tonight,” he wrote on Instagram on Sunday.
The TV host shared images of himself standing in a hospital room, using a cane to prop him up, and showing his knee bandaged up following the knee replacement.
Another photo showed the renovation king shirtless and lying in a hospital bed with a breathing tube under his nose, enjoying a pizza.
Scott was in hospital for two weeks thanks to the major surgery.

How is Scott Cam doing after his surgery?
The 63-year-old from Sydney said he was up and walking right after the procedure to ensure everything had gone smoothly, and that he is now in better spirits.
“The first five days were not good. Let me tell you. I’m at the back end now, I’m sweet,” he said,” he told Stav, Abby & Matt on Friday.
However, he wasn’t quite off the painkillers needed to help ease the immense pain associated with having such a major surgery.
“I was on the heavy-duty [painkillers] in the early days because knee replacements are pretty big,” he said.
“Yeah, there’s a lot of pain involved. But now I’m at the back end. I’m going home on Sunday, and I’m still incapacitated a little bit with a walking stick.”
Scott and Shelley Craft will return to host The Block.

Friends and fans’ reaction to shocking pictures
Dozens of friends and fans were quick to send messages of a speedy recovery to Scott.
“Hope ya back at full tilt soon mate,” said comedian Shane Jacobsen.
“Thinking of you, Scotty, all the best for a speedy recovery,” said Britt and Taz, who won the renovation show last year.
Channel 9 presenter Belinda Russell joked that the hospital pizza looked good.
“Take it easy, Scotty,” she added.
“It’ll be the best thing for ya mate,” said actor Matt Nable, who appeared alongside Scott on Channel 9 series Shark.
