Nat Barr Just Shattered The Logies Illusion And What She Revealed About The Night’s Darkest Moments Will Haunt You
The Channel 7 star reveals the one part of her job that still makes her “uncomfortable”.
Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr has revealed that, despite being at the helm of Channel 7’s breakfast show for the last five years, there is still one thing about her job that makes her “uncomfortable”.
The 58-year-old is set to attend Australian television’s night of nights, the TV Week Logie Awards, on Sunday.
However, despite being completely at ease presenting in unique Aussie locations or going toe-to-toe with the likes of Kyle Sandilands and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, red carpets still make her feel a bit nervous.
“We’re journos – so this is part of the job that is not natural. It’s fun, and it’s glamorous, but there’s a big part of me that feels like, ‘What am I doing again?'” she told 7news.com.au.
“We’ve been put in a frock and had professional hair and makeup, so we might look the part, but as soon as we walk on that carpet, some of us don’t know what we are doing.”
But, there’s still an element of excitement to the big event, with Nat once again wearing something from Sydney designer Mariam Seddiq.
She called it the “biggest treat”, and she felt “very lucky” to wear a beautiful gown.

The 66th edition of the Logies is on Sunday, with Poh Ling Yeow, Ally Langdon, Julie Morris, Rover Irwin, Lisa Millar, Todd Woodbridge and Sam Pang all up for the coveted Gold Logie Award.
The nominees for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter are Ally Langdon, David Speers, Karl Stefanovic, Michael Usher, Sarah Abo and Sarah Ferguson.
But Nat and her Sunrise co-host Matt Shirvington missed out on the nomination.
Former Sunrise host David ‘Kochie’ Koch criticised the Logies for snubbing Channel 7 presenters in such a major category.
Kochie, who no longer works for Seven, said it was a huge surprise to him, considering how well the morning breakfast show performed in the ratings.
“Sunrise has won every single day this year,” Kochie said on Instagram.
“Sunrise is averaging 424,000 viewers daily (+4 per cent year on year) while Today is averaging 308,000 (-3 per cent year on year).
“This has been going on for years.
“If you ever complain, you’re seen as a bad sport. But now I’m out of it, I can say TV Week Logie Awards and TV Week Magazine, honestly, WTF?”
Nat gives a glimpse into TV Week Logie Awards
Nat has revealed a little about what goes on behind-the-scenes at the big event, saying she’s in hair and make-up by lunchtime and having her pictures taken by mid-afternoon.
She joked that the room was “full of sugar and lollies” and she often needed a sweet treat around 9pm to keep her going through to midnight, when the evening typically wraps up.
The awards night is often renowned for its after-parties, but Nat said she typically skips them because her alarm is set for 2.30am so she can be on the Sunrise set bright and early on Monday.
“If you get out of that room at midnight and then even one hour at the party, that’s 1.30am – that’s not enough sleep time,” she said.
