‘Wouldn’t Say That About Albo’ — The Shocking Logies Moment Shane Jacobson Crossed The Line With Pauline Hanson And Everyone Is Furious

Jacobson, 56, presented the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent at the Logies on Sunday night, during which he slighted the conservative politician.

The Kenny actor was struggling to peel open the envelope containing the winner’s name when he made a risky joke.

“My god! If Pauline Hanson’s mouth was this hard to open, wouldn’t the world be a better place?” Jacobson said.

Ms Hanson has experienced a major, historic surge in 2026, briefly topping primary vote polls and even ranking as preferred prime minister.

However, the bold comment has divided Australians, with some saying Jacobson “said what everyone is thinking”, while others argued that he “wouldn’t say that about Albo”.

Other online commenters questioned whether political commentary was “necessary” during the media industry event, saying those who “aren’t afraid to say their opinions” were the most targeted.

“I don’t think the comment was necessary or relevant to the occasion,” one commenter wrote.

“Wonder if he makes similar jokes about other political parties.”

“Seemed like a bit of a swiping theme, with them taking a swipe at Pauline, Karl and Kyle. Why… because these people aren’t afraid to say their opinion?” wrote another.

“I don’t see why they have to take a dig at any politician. They should just focus on their industry and stay out of politics! But the lefties can’t help themselves,” a second commenter wrote.

Another commenter wrote: “The more y’all stab, the more support she gets. Keep it going.”

“That is what you expect from woke people. Water off a duck’s back for Pauline,” a fourth commented.

Despite the heavy criticism, some Australians found the swipe humorous and took their hats off to the Australian comedian for his boldness.

“Oh, I love Shane even more now,” one person wrote.

“The Hanson supporters have been triggered and are losing their minds,” a second commented.

“I was flicking through off and on and heard this (comment). Just brilliant,” wrote a third.

“Absolutely spot-on, cracking joke from Jacobson,” wrote another.

One person cited the wise crack as “the best moment in Logies”.

“The best part l enjoy was Shane Jacobson taking a dig at Pauline Hanson,” they wrote.

Jacobson wasn’t the only one to aim at media personalities that have been under the spotlight in recent months, seemingly taking previous comments as a green light to let off some steam.

Logies host Robert Irwin also took a swipe at former Gold Logies winner Karl Stefanovic, saying the former Today host was saved a seat in the “far-right” of the room following his no-show.

“Karl Stefanovic didn’t RSVP tonight, so it means we didn’t have to hire as many bartenders,” Irwin said.

“We’ve saved him a seat in case he does show up – it’s over there on the right – the FAR right.”

Irwin also took a swipe at increasingly vocal comedian Dave Hughes following his series of critiques about the dire state of the Australian government.

“Speaking of beloved shows, apparently I hear Channel 10 is developing a reboot of Hughesy. We have a problem,” Irwin said.

“I think it’s called No, seriously, Hughesy, we have a problem.”
