Meghan Markle called Prince Harry “a charmer” after her husband made a surprise cameo during her appearance as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia.

The Duke of Sussex interrupted filming with a video call while Meghan was tasting dishes prepared by the show’s four remaining contestants.

“Hi, my love! My husband’s here,” Meghan said as she answered.

Harry responded by joking, “What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?”

Meghan told him she was enjoying the “delicious” food, adding, “We have four incredible cooks here. It’s amazing, they’re so talented. We wish you were here. I wish you could try this. These dishes are fantastic.”

She also joked that one of the contestants’ hot sauces might be “too spicy” for her husband.

Harry then signed off, saying, “Well, go and enjoy it. I’m very sorry to disturb you. All is well here. I’ll see you later.” After the call ended, Meghan called her husband “a charmer.”

The episode, which aired on Australia’s Network 10, was filmed in April during Meghan and Harry’s visit to the country.

When asked about her favorite meals to cook at home, Meghan said, “It’s a tough one because I have a lot of palates to appease. My husband, being from the U.K., loves a lot of meat, potatoes, cream sauce.

“As a California girl, I like grilled fish, grilled meats, citrus. I just like using lots of really pure natural herbs and spices. I like heat in my food, anything with spices.”

She added that her children, Archie and Lilibet, are “great eaters,” adding, “We are very lucky on that front.”

Finalist Petro Papathomas said he was initially starstruck but quickly found Meghan to be “really genuine.”

“There’s been so much written about her, you kind of don’t know what to believe, but I loved her,” he told TV WEEK. “She was so kind and talks really intelligently about food as well.”

Fellow finalist Casper Kenworthy described Meghan as “one of our favorite judges,” adding, “She was interested in what you were doing and wanting to chat.”

The guest spot follows Meghan’s Emmy-nominated Netflix series With Love, Meghan and the launch of her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

Reports of behind-the-scenes tension during filming were disputed by a source close to Meghan, who told PEOPLE that Meghan and the judges “had a wonderful time filming together.” Australian broadcaster Network 10 also denied the allegations.
