Magda Szubanski Just STOLE The Entire Logies Night And The Gold Logie Moment Has Everyone Screaming

The Kath and Kim star was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2025 awards night, and this year she topped that with a stellar cameo.

Aussies loved seeing Magda Szubanski reprise her role as Kath and Kim character Sharon Strzelecki at the TV Week Logies Awards.

Magda was revealed as the surprise guest to present the Gold Logie Award, and received a standing ovation as she came to the stage to present it to winner Sam Pang.

Robert Irwin, the youngest host in Logies history, introduced Madga to the crowd by saying Sharon was the newest employee at Australia Zoo.

The netball fanatic came onto the stage worse for wear, wearing an eyepatch, bird feathers in her hair, tiger scratches in her khaki uniform, and an arm sling.

The crowd, including Channel 9 star and fellow Gold Logie nominee Ally Langdon, stood and applauded Magda, who announced she was in remission for stage 4 blood cancer in February.

“I’m not crying, I’ve just got something in my eye,” Sharon said as she made her way up to the microphone.

She joked that on her first day, she fell inside the tiger enclosure, which Robert said was probably a sackable offence.

Sharon even took a cheeky swipe at Robert, asking if he “really thought” he’d win the Gold Logie, and said she didn’t want to present the big award as she had a 12-hour drive to pickleball in the morning.

The moment resonated with viewers, who said she “stole the show” and were so glad to see Magda back on their screens after she took some time off during her cancer battle.

“So good to see Magda Szubanski up on the stage again. What a fighter. What an icon,” wrote one.

“That there made staying up so late for the Gold Logie winner to be announced worth it. So good to see her,” added another.

“This was my favourite TV moment ever. Had no idea it was coming, and so happy to see Magda performing again,” said a third.

Who won the Gold Logie?

The 2026 Gold Logie nominees for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television included the awards night’s host Robert Irwin, and his I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! co-host Julia Morris.

Sam Pang, Ally Langdon, Lisa Millar, Poh Ling Yeow and Todd Woodbridge were also up for the award.

But, ultimately, the Have You Been Paying Attention star took home the top award of the evening.

Sam couldn’t help but laugh when he got up onto the stage.

“Thank you very much, I don’t know what to say. I’ve never received a standing ovation,” he joked.

“I wanted to say, it is a big honour.”
