Sandilands and his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson were dumped from ARN following an on-air clash in February, when Sandilands told Henderson she was “off with the fairies”, “unfocused” and that she did not “give a s***” during a segment in which he criticised her interest in astrology.

In the second episode of a tell-all four-part documentary series, Sandilands has suggested that his bust-up with Henderson wasn’t actually the real reason he was unceremoniously dumped by ARN.

Opening up about the reaction from fellow Aussie radio stars, Sandilands suggested that some of his rivals appeared to be revelling in his downfall.

“You’ve got some other radio stations that were enjoying it,” he said on Kyle Sandilands Live. “F**k off, you flops. It was a great deal.”

Following the first episode that aired Monday, Sandilands went on to allude to some goings on behind the scenes at the station, claiming that a “f**k up” sparked the implosion of his and Henderson’s own deal.

“If their [ARN’s] other plan, which I was unaware of… they must have done the mathematics to make that whole plan work. They needed to have bought the other radio network, and then that all f**ked up for some reason and that imploded our deal.”

He continued: “Well no, sorry I imploded our deal officially. [Makes a crude sexual gesture]. None of that! Or was it? I think what really happened was mathematical.”

Sandilands went on to reveal that he was trying to keeping a brave face in regards to losing his job, but that all came crashing down following the finale of Australian Idol.

The former radio shock job admitted that things quickly began to feel real when he realised he didn’t have any more jobs to go to.

“The girl wins, the confetti comes down. I leave the set and it sort of hits me, that’s it, I’ve got nothing. No radio job. Idol is finished for the year. That’s my routine gone.”

He then went on to claim that his manager, Bruno, pulled him aside while at his lowest and insisted that his family were “not safe”.

“And then Bruno tells me ‘You and your family aren’t safe’. There was a death threat: ‘If you go back and do any work on any platform, we’re going to kill you.’”

Elsewhere in the revealing sit down chat, Sandilands was asked whether having to tell his family that he’d been fired was the “most embarrassing” moment of his life so far.

However, after some contemplation, the controversial star made reference to his infamous 2019 affair.

“It was the most embarrassing,” he said before giving it a second though. “Well, apart from fucking the tr***y. But that was like 2019. Her finding out about that it didn’t go down well either. ‘You f**cked a bloke’. And I said: ‘Yeah, but he [she] looked like a woman.”

Sandilands also shared that his Hollywood pal Russell Crowe urged him to reconcile with Henderson by phoning her.

“Been talking to Russell Crowe this morning… just on text, but he’s like, ‘just ring her bro, you know, you guys did build this, blah blah blah’,” Sandilands said.

Sandilands added he told Crowe he believed the situation had gone too far.

“I said, ‘I’m sorry, I have reached out a few times but it’s now been asked not to legally,’” he said.

“And I said it’s beyond repair at that stage because her contract is already terminated. I said so I’m only left with whatever legal options were presented to me.”

Meanwhile, it comes after radio giant ARN had a legal win in its multimillion-dollar legal battle with Henderson.

In a court ruling last week ARN was given permission to deploy an affidavit by her former breakfast radio co-host Sandilands.

Henderson is persevering with her Federal Court lawsuit against ARN after her lucrative 10-year agreement was torn up.

Sandilands last month settled his lawsuit with his former employer in a deal worth $12.09 million over three years.
