‘Today’ Show Star Sarah Abo Just Welcomed Her First Baby, And Her Emotional Announcement Will Leave You In Tears
Sarah Abo has shared an exciting update with fans – she’s had her baby boy with her husband Cyrus Moran!
The journalist revealed the exciting news on July 24 via Instagram.
“Hi there 👋🏼 you can call me Sonny 🥰,” she penned in the caption, revealing her bundle of joy’s sweet name.
“What a week with our little man ♥️ He came into the world a little early, but that gave us a little longer to marvel at you, our beautiful boy. We love you so infinitely darling ♥️”

“And to the incredible doctors and midwives who made hospital home for two weeks – thank you for taking such good care of us, you are all angels and we are forever grateful 🙏🏼”
The Today host shared four black and white photos of her and her husband cuddling their baby boy.
She also appeared via video on the Today Show to introduce the other hosts to Sonny.
“He’s really good. He was born just in time to watch his first Pies win against the Blues … so that was a bit of a thrill,” she said on air on July 24.
“Although dad only had eyes for his bubba. And we’ve been just in our own little bubble for the week which is such a treat.”
The update comes eight days after she revealed that she was taking her maternity leave from the Today Show earlier than planned, due to high blood pressure.
At the time, she thanked fans for their support and kind messages.
The Today show host initially revealed that her family was growing love on air on March 11.
Holding back tears, she announced she was expecting her first child, sharing that she was having a boy.
Sarah was emotional as she shared the news, admitting it hadn’t been an easy road to get here.

The couple lost a baby last year, and Sarah revealed she and Cyrus went through “test after test” before even telling their families.
“It’s not as easy as you suppose sometimes think that pregnancy will be,” she admitted.
“It has been a bit of a bumpy ride, but here we are, and yes, it’s getting harder to hide.
“As much as I’d like to bury my head in the sand and not address it. We’re almost halfway now, so things are going well. And, yeah, so it’s good.”
The nicknamed their baby CJ at the time, and didn’t reveal any hints about his name.

Sarah also took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about her journey, opening up about the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy after loss.
“It’s our happy news after a bit of a bumpy ride. But I am still pretty terrified!” she wrote.
“Instead, for some of us, it’s about dodging glances, dodging questions, submitting to appointment after appointment, test after test, jab after jab.”
She ended with a message for anyone going through a similar experience.
“For anyone out there going through this – I’m sending so much love… please know that you’re absolutely not alone.”
