Channel 10 has confirmed when the MasterChef episode featuring the Duchess of Sussex will air.
The television network announced in April, during Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Australian tour, that the Duchess would appear as a guest judge on the show.
Yahoo Lifestyle readers were pretty vocal about their feelings on the news, with a poll of more than 1,200 showing just 7 per cent said were excited to see Meghan on the program.
Channel 10 has kept pretty tight-lipped on the details of Meghan’s appearance since then, but the network has finally confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that the episode will air on July 26.
Meghan said there were two things that attracted her to the show: her love of food and her love of Australia.
“It was an easy yes,” she said.
“It’s such a great show. I’m just really honoured that I was asked to be able to be here with you and to be able to judge some of these meals.”
The episode will feature Meghan challenging the remaining cooks to create a dish using carrots, brussels sprouts, Australian honey, macadamia nuts, quince, Jerusalem artichokes, celeriac, lemons, apples, mandarins and strawberries.
The ingredients were all about celebrating what was in season during the time of filming.
“These are all things that, for me, feel really nostalgic,” Meghan said.
“I’d love it if there’s a connection that you can find when, as you’re cooking something, what is the story behind it? What is something from your family or from a memory…something sentimental that we can also taste as we taste your dish.”

Aussies divided over Meghan Markle’s MasterChef appearance
Meghan’s food credentials are lengthy, including her Netflix series With Love, Meghan and her lifestyle brand As Ever.
But when news of her appearance on MasterChef surfaced in April, not everyone was jumping for joy.
“Are we serious? She’s a home cook,” said one.
“I’m soooo disappointed!! MasterChef was the only ‘reality’ show I enjoyed and respected. All respect has gone out the window – won’t be watching this rubbish,” wrote another
But, for every person who was upset, there was another who was overjoyed.
“Oh my word. The Princess is so beautiful!!! Go Meghan,” said one excited viewer. “Looking forward to this… passionate foodie and health and wellness/intentional living advocate, think she’ll bring such an extra dimension to the table,” commented one supporter.
Season 18 of the show has had some massive guest judges, including Rick Stein, Maggie Beer, Jimmy and Jane Barnes and Robert Irwin.
