Robert Irwin has seemingly put to bed speculation that he would ever appear on The Bachelor.

It’s not because he’s rumoured to already have a partner, but because of what the reality TV show represents.

Yahoo Lifestyle has previously asked the 22-year-old if he would like to be the leading man on the program, but he managed to perfectly dodge the question.

Last year, E! News also asked him about the possibility, and he said “watch this space”, adding that “stranger things have happened”.

But it looks like he’s put a nail in that idea once and for all.

Over the weekend, he revealed he would be hosting Australian Ninja Warrior on Channel 10 in 2027.

It comes off the back of him hosting the Dancing With The Stars spin-off show, The Next Pro, Australia’s version of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and the Logie Awards next month.

It’s clear he’s in hot demand.

But when speaking to The Daily Telegraph, he outlined what projects he would and wouldn’t sign up for.

“You could ask me to do absolutely anything in the world, but I’m not going to do it unless it’s a show that I’m genuinely a fan of and genuinely enjoy, or it’s something that really aligns with a sense of fun and passion and optimism,” he said.

“And there aren’t a lot of shows that are reality shows … competition shows, that are positive and fun and celebrate something that kids in a living room can look at and look up to.

“Most of the reality shows happening right now, you know, I don’t know if I’d want my little niece Grace looking at and going, ‘ah, this is someone who I want to be’.”

While he didn’t officially call out The Bachelor, there’s no denying the reality show has its fair share of drama.

It has great aims of helping two people find each other, but there can be some messy moments, betrayals, and could be a brand image nightmare for Robert.

A poll of more than 1,300 Yahoo Lifestyle readers found only 10 per cent thought he’d be perfect for The Bachelor, and 82 per cent said he was “too good” for it.

Is Robert Irwin dating anyone?

There has been a lot of speculation that the 22-year-old is currently dating talented wildlife photographer, Ashleigh Scully.

They were recently spotted together in New York City, albeit a few metres apart, but fans believe the two just “soft-launched” their partnership to the masses.

A “soft launch” is when you announce a new relationship in a very subtle way.

They both recently posted a series of social media images “on top of the world” at the Grand Teton summit in Wyoming.

The pictures show different parts of the gruelling climb that finishes nearly 4,200 metres above sea level, with Ashleigh revealing her mum was with her every step of the way.

Robert and Ashleigh both took identical photos of their hands touching the benchmark at the top of the mountain.
