“We’re in a Difficult Time!” The DEVASTATING Network Crisis That Forced Channel 10 to Completely Overhaul Their Failing Show!
It’s the second change to 10 News+’s format, which currently airs six nights a week, since it was launched in June 2025.

Channel 10 has confirmed a major shakeup to its evening schedule and will dramatically reduce its struggling news program.
10 News+ only launched last year and was available six nights a week after the 5pm bulletin finished.
The program was hosted by Amelia Brace and Denham Hitchcock, and was meant to “redefine evening news” by providing “comprehensive analysis, trusted reporting, and long-form investigative journalism”.
But the network copped a lot of viewer feedback in the last 12 months since it debuted, with Aussies demanding “more local news”.
As a result, 10 News+ has been relegated to just one night a week.
A Ten spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle that the change will ensure more resources are being invested into the 5pm bulletin.
“[This will] deliver audiences more of the local stories, breaking news and in-depth reporting they rely on,” they said.
“10 News+ remains our weekly news and current affairs program on Sunday nights at 6.30pm.
“It will continue to provide viewers with compelling investigations and long-form journalism, reporting that remains central to 10’s news offering.”
The move will kick in on August 10 and will mean the 5pm bulletin will be expanded from 60 minutes to 90 minutes.
Martin White, the vice president of news for Paramount Australia, which owns Ten, sent an email to staff on Wednesday outlining the changes.
Amelia Brace and Denham Hitchcock will continue to host 10 News+ on Sunday.

“I want to be clear – we are incredibly proud of all our news bulletins, and the quality journalism we produce every day,” Martin said.
“Last month, 10 News saw its biggest monthly national total audience since January. Across the year, 10 News streaming audience is up 45 per cent on 2025. 10’s Late News is having its biggest audiences since its return in 2024.
“This is a necessary pivot to maximise our resourcing and deliver more local news for our audiences.”
Ten hopes this will “lighten the workload on teams around the country”, but the network confirmed a “small number” of roles across Ten News+ and operations would be impacted.
“It’s a difficult time for our industry, please support your colleagues,” Martin said.
Ten’s 5pm program has averaged 305,000 viewers on weeknights in 2026, while the 10 News+ weeknight show has averaged just 151,000.
