“I Had No Option!” Kyle Sandilands’ DEVASTATING Confession About Jackie O Will Leave You in TEARS!

Kyle Sandilands has revealed how he is feeling about starting his new venture without Jackie O Henderson by his side, after they were on air together for almost three decades, saying he was left with “no option”.

“Like this is what I do. Obviously, Jackie must be in the space where she doesn’t want to do that anymore,” he said.

“But time will tell because she’s still in court, so we won’t be able to speak until after that.”

Prior to working with Henderson, Kyle said he had done “about 20 shows” alongside various people.

“I think you refine your craft, you learn a little bit more. What I learned with Jackie was just to listen a bit more and to let the other person shine,” he said.

Sandilands believes that where a lot of duos or trios of presenters go wrong is that they try and “compete” with each other to have the last laugh or the last word.

“You can learn a lot by just shutting up and listening to what other people have to say,” he said.

“The more you open your mind up to different cultures, different ideas, different ways of thought, you don’t have to accept all of that for yourself, but it does make you more of a rounded person.”

It comes as news.com.au exclusively revealed that its own Senior Culture Reporter, Mary Madigan, will be joining Sandilands as part of his new show, Kyle Sandilands Live.

Kicking off on August 10, the show will be available through a stand-alone app and will broadcast live from 6am to 10am, Monday through to Friday.

It is understood Madigan, 31, will be joining the show as a newsreader and will also be chatting on air with Sandilands, 55, about various topics and hot button issues.

Speaking to news.com.au, the shock jock said there will be “a lot of different voices” on the show.

“Mary will present the news and any gossip news and also be a total voice with the rest of us,” he said.

“So I will present the show and Mary will be like the second tier and then there’s also the other ensemble cast as well.

“So there’ll be a lot of different voices which is what we want to do for this program.”

Sandilands said he first became aware of Mary and her work after watching her news.com.au vox pop video series Mary Wants To Know, where she would pose different questions to everyday Aussies.

He immediately took a liking to her “disarming” way of speaking to people and thought she “had a good take on things”.

He then started reading her articles and saw her on various morning TV programs, which then led to her making a regular appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“She was great on the air. It was just a nice electric, high energy feel and she was funny.

I thought, ‘Well, that’s it.” Tick, tick, tick. I’ll take that one’,” Sandilands said.

From Madigan’s side, she said she has “always really loved Kyle”, and had positive interactions with him even in the early days of her journalism career working in trade media.

She feels she and Kyle have a “natural chemistry” and said appearing on the Kyle and Jackie O Show used to be the highlight of her week.

“I’m really excited to join the show. I’m excited and a little bit nervous, and I think I’m going to learn a lot from Kyle and maybe he’ll even learn the odd thing from me too,” she said.

Madigan will continue contributing to news.com.au as well as co-hosting the weekly pop culture podcast Unserious alongside deputy editor Liz Burke and Sky News host Caleb Bond.

Kyle Sandilands Live will also be executive-produced by Jaimee Blazquez, who worked on the Kyle and Jackie O Show for over nine years.

“I’m so excited to reunite with Kyle and the team to build this new show from the ground up,” she told news.com.au.

“I know it’s a challenge, but it’s one I’m so excited to take on, and I know we can do it and have so much fun along the way.”

When he met Madigan, he could tell immediately she was “going to be good talent”.

“She’s good on the air. We’ve got a good chemistry. We can banter,” he said.

Sandilands also praised Madigan’s ability to “chat and chat and chat”, which he pointed out will be very useful as the new show won’t have any ad breaks.

The show will run on a subscription-based model, which will cost $99 annually.

Subscribers will be able to listen to the program live, rewind the show and will even have the option to call in using video calling.

Listeners will also have the option to use their device while the show plays, as it supports background audio and picture-in-picture viewing.

Sandilands said the program will have “all the things people loved” about the old show, while ditching the other components.

“The things that you hated, the commercial breaks and the constant beeping that was like you were listening to Morse code, that’ll all be gone,” he said.

“So you’ll hear us free from government interference, free from mental case lunatic groups that are trying to shut down advertisers. We just bypassed all of them.

“So someone will pay $2 a week to never hear an ad again and to never hear a censorship again.”
