Robert Irwin has revealed his one rule for Channel 7 after the network snapped up I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
Channel 10 decided to “rest” the popular reality program to focus on other shows, and Seven swooped in to broadcast the 2027 season.
It’s unclear what this will mean for Robert and his co-host, Julia Morris, who has helmed the show for more than a decade.
The network could bring in fresh faces to lead the bevy of A-to-Z-listers in the South African jungle.
Robert had one wish for Seven as it prepares for the upcoming season.
“I was very proud when I came on board, because I said we can’t eat the African wildlife, and they were great with that,” he said on radio show The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick.
“As long as that continues, I’ll be a supporter of that show forever.”
Before Robert joined the show in 2024, it was customary for the Bushtucker Trials to feature animal body parts for the celebrities to feast on and gag on.
But the 22-year-old wildlife warrior wanted to put a stop to that.
While the eating trials still continued under his watch, it was only “sustainably farmed animals” that were used.
“It’s a very important thing for me. And I’m very proud of what we’re doing together to really hit home and lead by example with wildlife conservation in this new season of I’m A Celebrity,” he told The Project.
Is Robert Irwin hosting I’m A Celeb in 2027?
Robert was asked by the radio hosts whether Channel 7 had been in touch about the 2027, and Robert dodged the question perfectly.
“There’s been so much change with I’m A Celeb, I know as much as you guys do,” he said.
“Every single year we watch people have these life-changing experiences, but I really feel that for the first time, that Julia and myself had this opportunity to look back and go, ‘Wow! What an incredible time that was.’
“It’s been very reflective.”
What does Channel 7 have to say about I’m A Celeb?
Channel 7 is excited for a “new chapter” for one of the most “successful and talked-about franchises” on TV.
“The iconic series will bring its signature mix of adventure, humour and high-stakes challenges to Seven audiences for the first time, as an all-new cast of celebrities brave the elements, tackle unforgettable trials and compete for the coveted title of King or Queen of the Jungle,” Seven said in a statement.
Media commentator Andrew Mercado told Yahoo Lifestyle that while it might sound like a silly move to dump someone like Robert from the pivotal role, the numbers always come first.

“[The networks] will be looking at cutting costs, and maybe Robert is too expensive,” he said.
“Nobody buys a show from another network and plans to spend more money on it.”
Angus Ross, the managing director for TV and streaming at Seven’s parent company, Southern Cross Media Group, is thrilled for audiences to see what they have planned for the program.
“This is a proven franchise with a passionate fan base and we look forward to bringing our own fresh energy and ambition to its next chapter,” he said.
ITV Studios Australia’s CEO and Managing Director, David Mott, added that this will be a “brand-new era for the Jungle”.
