‘Security Breach’ — The MasterChef Moment Prince Harry Called Meghan Markle And Sofia Levin’s Explosive Truth Bomb Just Dropped
A MasterChef judge has denied reports Prince Harry’s infamous FaceTime call during wife Meghan Markle’s appearance on the cooking show was scripted – revealing cast members at first thought the on-set fuss was due to a “security breach”.
A MasterChef judge has revealed the truth behind a controversial moment in Meghan Markle’s high-profile appearance on the Australian cooking show.
Australian food journalist and MasterChef judge Sofia Levin, 36, told News24.com.au the FaceTime cameo from Prince Harry during the show was entirely unscripted – contrary to claims the moment was “contrived”.
“It was very real,” Levin said of the cameo from the Logies red carpet on Sunday night. “It was so real that usually they tell us what’s going to happen in advance – they didn’t tell us.”

She added that the moment so caught the cast off-guard that they initally believed the fuss was caused by a “security breach”.
“The bit that probably didn’t make it into that edit was Poh [Ling Yeow’s] and my … faces, because we thought there had been a security breach.
“If someone sort of interrupts like that [that’s what you assume].
“And then when we saw [Harry’s] face and we sort of figured out what was happening and afterwards we [told Meghan] ‘You totally should have told us’.”
Levin added: “[It was] not planned from where I was standing.”

During the wild on-air moment, Meghan’s phone was brought to her by a staffer, with Meghan announcing “My husband’s here,” to crew and the contestants.
“What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?” Harry asked, in a moment GB News contributor and TV presenter Cristo Foufas blasted as “contrived”.
“It’s just so contrived; are we honestly expected to believe that it was just, oh my word, I just happened to be in the MasterChef studio, oh my husband has given me a call.” Mr Foufas told News24 host Danica De Giorgio.
“What a load of nonsense, and suddenly as well that the production team are able to bring up Harry’s face. “Meghan is smart enough to know that she’s not the A-list act there; it is Harry, that is the one that they want, that’s the one that is actually the royal connection.”
However on Sunday night, Levin singled out Markle’s authenticity on set.
“None of the bad stuff is true. She was just an absolute delight. People are really mean. My experience of Meghan was that she loved food… we hung out when we weren’t filming… she didn’t run off to her green room. She wanted to talk about beekeeping and her kids and the things she likes to cook and eat. It was really nice getting to see that side of her.”
Co-star Andy Allen echoed Levin’s praise for the Duchess, telling News24.com.au that reports from the cast and crew had led him to believe Meghan was “super down-to-earth” and “knew people’s names” on set.
“Just those really small things that add up.”
