The Block 2026 Guest Bedrooms Just Leaked and the SHOCKING Design Choices Will Leave You Absolutely SPEECHLESS!

Did you agree with the judges?

The Block‘s first week has officially wrapped up, and we’ve got some jaw-dropping renovations to show for it!

The 2026 teams were put through their paces for the first time, tasked with renovating the Guest Bedroom to a “quiet luxury” brief to match the likes of Kim Kardashian.

The week started in confusion, with many teams wrongly starting work on the Guest Suites, rather than the Guest Bedrooms, but they all managed to make a comeback.

So, who won the first week and what do the final designs look like?

Get all the details below.

Week One: All of the Guest Bedroom renovations

WINNERS

Scores:

  • Shaynna Blaze: 8.5
  • Marty Fox: 8.5
  • Alice Stolz: 9
  • Total: 26

Feedback:

Courtney and Sev were the week one winners, with the judges praising their bold, sensory design choices.

While their decision to micro-cement their wardrobes courted controversy, it all proved to be worth it when they nabbed first place.

They also took a huge risk in going thousands of dollars over the proposed $10,000 budget, but they tell New Idea it was all worth it to secure the $10,000 prize and the house of their choosing.

“We were ******** our pants the entire time because if we did that and it didn’t pay off and we got absolutely crucified as well, it would have been humiliating for both of us,” Courtney tells us.

“Although they weren’t like the world’s biggest fan of the cement on the doors, they could see why they did love how it looked.”

“It definitely made us feel a lot better and relieved.”

With House 4 now in their sights, they joke that they’ll be tightening their budget in the future challenges.

Second place

Scores:

  • Shaynna Blaze: 7.5
  • Marty Fox: 7
  • Alice Stolz: 7.5
  • Total: 22

Feedback:

Adam and Jolene impress the judges with their understated yet luxurious room, which is praised for perfectly aligning with the brief.

They narrowly missed out on securing first place by just four points, but have put themselves in a good position for the coming weeks.

Third place

Scores:

  • Shaynna Blaze: 7
  • Marty Fox: 6
  • Alice Stolz: 7
  • Total: 20

Feedback:

Chantel and Wyatt’s room was criticised as being dated and too safe, with the judges questioning whether they had the buyer in mind.

And things only went from bad to worse for the pair when Scott Cam gave them a warning for allegedly spending $20,700 during the first week.

A stunned Chantel and Wyatt firmly denied his allegation, insisting they did not spend anywhere near that amount.

Sunday’s episode ended on a major cliffhanger, with the trailer for Monday showing the pair blow up over the allegations.

New Idea hears that it was actually a production error, and Chantel and Wyatt threaten to leave after getting in a heated row with Scott.

“Scotty has seen human error happen on building sites for decades,” our insider reveals.

“Nobody was pretending it wasn’t a serious error, but he felt most other contestants would have handled the situation very differently.”

It remains to be seen whether Chantel and Wyatt will quit before the week two reveals.

Fourth place

Scores:

  • Shaynna Blaze: 6.5
  • Marty Fox: 6
  • Alice Stolz: 7
  • Total: 19.5

Feedback:

Lisa and Rosco were praised for the effort and texture in their room, but were marked down for material choices.

The judges were also left scratching their heads over their slanted hollow shelving feature, which was eviscerated for its poor attention to detail.

While it might not have been the winning week for the couple, they did win the CommBank budget challenge, coming within $6 of their estimate.

Rick and Tayla

Fifth place

Scores:

  • Shaynna Blaze: 6
  • Marty Fox: 5
  • Alice Stolz: 6
  • Total: 17

Feedback:

Rick and Tayla received the most brutal feedback from the judges, with the judges describing their room as bland.

Their design was also said to be without personality, emotion or soul, and the judges felt it was too cluttered with clashing features.

Is this an early sign of defeat for the father-daughter duo, or can they pull things back?
