Robert Irwin has delighted fans with a candid glimpse behind the scenes of his latest major TV role, with viewers convinced the 22-year-old has found his calling.
Robert Irwin has won over fans with a candid look behind the scenes of his latest hosting gig, just weeks after Australians were divided over his performance at the TV Week Logies.
The 22-year-old is currently hosting Dancing With The Stars: The Next Pro on Disney+, adding another major TV job to a growing list that already includes becoming the youngest person ever to host the Logies.
But while Robert might appear completely at ease in front of the cameras, a new behind-the-scenes clip has revealed there’s plenty that goes on before he steps onto the stage — including the occasional forgotten line.
Robert’s day begins with a script meeting, where he runs through his introduction and makes any last-minute changes before heading to his dressing room.
Waiting for him is a door emblazoned with “VIP TALENT” and a star, before it’s time for hair and makeup.
“It’s time for hair and makeup — but first, I put on my unicorn cape,” Robert joked as a bright pink cape was draped over him.
“Totally my vibe. Love this.”
After grabbing a burger and getting dressed, Robert headed to set where he reunited with a familiar face — his former Dancing With The Stars US partner Witney Carson.
The pair won Dancing With The Stars US together in 2025, with Witney returning to appear as a guest judge on The Next Pro.
The 32-year-old just announced she is pregnant with her third child.
Robert then took viewers onto the set as filming got underway, even finding time to bust out a few dance moves of his own.

The candid glimpse at Robert’s latest TV role prompted an overwhelmingly positive reaction from fans, with many arguing he was a natural fit for hosting.
“Yes, can’t wait to see more of Robert on TV,” one person wrote.

The reaction comes after Robert’s Logies hosting debut sparked a much more divided response among Yahoo Lifestyle readers.
When readers were asked whether Robert should return to host the awards in 2027, almost 60 per cent voted against the idea, while 41 per cent wanted to see him given another shot.
Those backing Robert praised his old-school showmanship and ability to entertain without relying on controversy.
“Robert Irwin is a wonderful combination of the great entertainers of an earlier era — a little bit of Bert Newton, Graham Kennedy, Don Lane and Ricky May, all rolled into one,” one reader told Yahoo Lifestyle.
